On Thursday, November 9, Mr. Kevin Lloyd’s third-period class prepared to perform for their playing tests on the music they’ve recently learned.

This class is one of several musical courses led by Lloyd, who also directs the Linganore Band program.

The guitar course is split into three levels, each of which builds on the skills taught in the prior course. The introductory course focuses on teaching students to read music and play basic chords. After learning to play a song or a segment of one, students take a playing test to demonstrate the skills they acquired.

Junior Felix Zarate said, “This class is a great starter course and really helps students decide whether playing the guitar is something they want to pursue and invest more time in.”
