On December 7, players from the boys and girls varsity soccer team game together to scrimmage for fun on the stadium field after school. The teams were selected by two random team captains as they played against one another for an hour.
Senior Caleb Needle said, “It was a fun way to end the season, it was fun to play against the girls since there was a lot of speculation between the two teams on who would win. In my opinion though I think that it would’ve been a better mix if there were more girls there to play.”
Senior girl’s captain Ashley Yurich said, “The scrimmage was a lot of fun because we all got a chance to get back out an play soccer again after awhile. It was a lot of fun to play against new people.”
The boys team finished their season with a record of 6-6, while the girls went on to win their team’s first state 3A championship in penalty kicks 4-3. They finished their season with an outstanding record of 17-1-4.
