Baker’s forensic science class practices crime scene calculations: Photo of the Day 10/10/17
Class of 2019 student Christian Nolan works on experiment with teacher, Jessica Baker.
October 11, 2017
Students in Ms. Jessica Baker’s forensics classes were outside the building on October 10 examining styrofoam heads. The purpose of the experiment was to model a bullet going into a skull to learn how to calculate bullet trajectory.
This type of experiment is important because it helps students understand the basics of crime scene calculations.
Baker said, “This is an important calculation in order to narrow down the suspect pool and to search the area efficiently. Time is of the essence when searching for a suspect.”
Forensics Science is a course offered to all students that are in eleventh or twelfth grade. This course focuses mainly on the study of Criminal Law. Everything from crime scenes to murder weapons is all taught in this class.
