Krispy Kreme novice finds delight in new store: Photo of the Day 6/2/17
June 3, 2017
National Doughnut day is celebrated on the first Friday of June. This holiday celebrates the doughnut (or donut), and many doughnut shops participate.
The Krispy Kreme that just recently opened on Buckeystown Pike in Frederick earlier this month was giving out one free doughnut to celebrate Doughnut Day. The shop has been a big hit so far to the Frederick community. The out-the-door line should be proof of the success.
“This is exciting. It is busy, but exciting. This shop is accomplishing and exceeding our hopes for this place,” said Assistant General Manager, Mr. Kerry Manely.
Krispy Kreme’s mission is to enhance the lives their customers through the joy of the doughnuts. And after going there yesterday for my first time ever, I would agree.
I was curious to see what all the hype was about of the infamous Krispy Kreme doughnut, so I tried one on a day when I could get a free doughnut.
The line started outside, as it seemed everyone wanted a free doughnut. The line moved quickly into the shop and the smell alone confirmed that I made the right choice. There is a window in front of the machine that makes all of the fresh doughnuts, so waiting in line was actually fun.
The fresh glazed doughnut was still warm when I got it. One bite into it, and I knew I had found my newest obsession. I will definitely be going back, and I would recommend everyone try a hot Krispy Kreme.
The first Krispy Kreme opened on July 13th, 1937. Vernon Rudolph bought the secret recipe from a French chef down in New Orleans. When they originally opened they were just selling to local grocery stores and now the Krispy Kreme franchise has over 500 international shops.
And the Frederick locals are excited to have one of those franchises so close to home. Go out and get yourself a fresh donut at the Krispy Kreme located in Frederick!
