On February 3, 2016, striker Elizabeth Coletti made her official commitment to play Division 1 soccer at Towson University on National Signing Day. She was surrounded by her family, friends, and coaches.

Towson University wasn’t the only college who wanted this dynamic player for their girl’s soccer program. Coletti had other offers from Monmouth University, and University Maryland Baltimore County.

Coletti said she chose Towson because “the college had the right academic, social, and athletic balance.” She plans to manage both her academics and athletics with the help of the mandatory study hours she has set in place. During her time at Towson, Elizabeth plans to major in Business and Marketing, or Corporate Law.

Coletti was discovered by the Towson Tigers while she was playing in a soccer tournament with her club soccer team. “Club soccer definitely prepared me for college level soccer because it’s so competitive,” said Coletti.

Coach Rick Conner said, “I will miss her leadership the most. She sets incredible standards that are contagious to those around her.”

He went on to say that, “Elizabeth Coletti is a natural leader, a warrior, a tough person, and I like tough people.”

Mrs. Coletti, her biggest supporter, said, “I will miss the interactions with her that I have everyday. Our family won’t be whole when she leaves for college, but I’m proud of her.”

Coletti is looking forward to playing with her future teammates, and new coaches.
