To the moon and back to Linganore: Noah Garabedian trendsets at Mr. Linganore 2016
March 10, 2016
“One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.”
Noah Garabedian moon-bounced into the auditorium as Neil Armstrong. Waving an American flag and dramatically walking to Chariots of Fire, the crowd felt a surge of pride.
Throughout the Mr. Linganore preparation, Garabedian worked closely with senior Harper Lindsay, his escort and dance partner, and junior Harry Rasmussen, choreographing, memorizing moves, and working on his facial expressions.
He and Rasmussen performed an interpretive dance, similar to the dance he performed as a sophomore alongside his brother, Jack Garabedian, who was competing for the crown in 2014.
Being a good sport and in it for the fun, Garabedian appeared as the character Jim from The Office in competitor Chris Brown’s talent act, showed off his basketball skills and sweat band in Thomas Lang’s skit, and got greased up for Carter Schmidt’s skit, as well.
“My best memory of the night was probably Thomas Lang’s skit,” Garabedian confessed, but maybe the most memorable Garabedian moment was his answer to the question asked during the formal wear competition.
Mr. Jeremy Brown, co-master of ceremonies, posed the question, “What fashion trend would you endorse or start?” to which Garabedian replied, “I would have to choose Chubbies, because I love to show off my thighs.”
“It was much more fun than I had ever anticipated. I would definitely encourage anyone who has the opportunity to do Mr. Linganore to absolutely take part in it because it was an awesome time,” Garabedian said.
