Any girls interested in playing softball should attend a brief meeting on Wednesday, January 6th, at 2:30 pm in room C211.  If you are unable to attend, please see Coach Poffinberger.

Attention dancers, singers, and actors:  The Drama department will be holding auditions for the spring musical “The Sound of Music” on January 19th, 20th and 21st.  Sign up and audition information is posted outside of the drama room D101.  Please see Mr. Lazarus or Mr. Norko with questions.

Attention sophomores and juniors:  If you are interested in science, technology, engineering or math (STEM), you are invited to apply for a summer internship at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Lab.  You would work on a technical STEM project for 6-8 weeks with a mentor’s assistance.  This is a very unique opportunity to expand your technical skills.  For information about this program, stop by room C103 and talk to Ms. Radil-Harris or Mr. Brown this week.

Announcing our first Battle of the Cans!

Linganore and Oakdale High Schools will be competing in a canned food collection contest!  Canned foods will be collected at our home basketball game TONIGHT and again at our away basketball game on February 5th against Oakdale.  Each school earns points for cans donated at their home games. Cans brought in by the visiting team count against that total. The SGA’s of both schools will be monitoring the collections. The winning school will earn a large trophy to keep for the year. There is no limit to the number of canned food items you can bring.  Our battle begins tomorrow.  BRING IN THOSE CANS!!!

It’s time to take the plunge!

Make plans to join the Linganore Cool School Challenge team for the 2016 Polar Bear Plunge.  The Plunge is a benefit for Maryland Special Olympics and Unified Sports.  The event will be held on January 28th, at Sandy Point Park on the Chesapeake Bay.  Beginning this Wednesday, a sign up table will be available during all lunch shifts for you to join the team.  Additional details can be found on the SGA website at www.LinganoreSGA.com.
