Homecoming t-shirts will be on sale this week at all lunch periods and at the JV football game tonight. The cost is $20.00 for a long sleeve shirt. There are only 175 shirts, so get one before they’re gone. This is a fundraiser for the Little Lancer Child Development classes and Independent Living classes.

Consider attending the second of our Fall College and Career Fairs today during all lunch shifts.   Also, Frederick Community College will host admissions representatives from more than one hundred colleges and universities at its annual College Night tonight.  High school students and their parents are invited to attend the event in the Athletics Center from 6:30-8:30 pm.

Do you like breakfast food and 80’s movies?  Then join Linganore’s new club!  The Breakfast Club meets after school from 2:30-4:30 pm every other Wednesday, starting October 19th, in Mrs. Diggs’ room A225.  For more information, see Ms. Diggs, Erin Doyle or Payton Hull.

Any students who are interested in joining Model UN and the January General Assembly, but were unable to attend the September orientation, should stop by Mrs. Smithhisler’s room C231 to make a country selection. The deadline to join is Thursday, October 20th.

Due to the weather forecast, the Science National Honor Society workday at the Audrey Carroll Audubon Sanctuary this Saturday, October 8th, has been cancelled and will be rescheduled for Saturday, October 15th.

Students looking for a quiet place to study during Friday’s Pep Rally can sign up for a study hall in the Media Center.  A limited number of students will be allowed.  Students are expected to work quietly and independently.  No food or drinks allowed.  Sign up by Thursday at 2:15 pm.  If you have questions, see Ms. Thompson.

Now for sports related news…

Varsity girls’ soccer defeated Frederick with a score of 10-0. JV also won 7-0.  And, Varsity volleyball won over Frederick 3-0.

Come out and support Linganore Volleyball and The Side Out Foundation for Breast Cancer Awareness this Thursday, October 6th, at LHS, for our Dig Pink match against Middletown. Please show up in all the pink you can find to show your support.

The JV football team takes on Oakdale tonight at home.

The golf team will be playing at TJ tonight.

Don’t forget the spirit wear for this week. Tomorrow is class color day!  Freshmen wear red, sophomores wear yellow, juniors wear blue, and seniors wear tie-dye.
