It’s time to plan the Linganore Travel Club’s trip to Italy!  The trip will take place June 19-29. Come explore Italy with us! We will ride in a gondola through the waters of Venice, watch glassblowing from master craftsmen, see the Romeo and Juliet balcony in Verona, visit Florence for some amazing renaissance art, visit the Colosseum and the Vatican in Rome, walk the ruins of Pompeii and visit the Blue Grottos by boat in beautiful Capri. We finish all this off with a beach day on the Italian coast. You don’t want to miss it! There will be a parent’s meeting on Tuesday, October 18th, at 7:00 pm. Students interested in CTC:  Take the opportunity to shadow two programs of your choice.  Applications are available in the Student Services office. See your counselor for additional information. You are also welcome to see Mrs. Duggan in Student Services regarding your options.

Members of the Science National Honor Society are reminded of this Saturday’s workday at the Audrey Carroll Audubon Sanctuary from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon.  Students are reminded to bring hand saws, pruners, work gloves and wear work shoes.  Directions are located outside of room A139.

Underclass picture make ups are scheduled for Tuesday, October 18th.  If you missed getting your picture taken the last time the photographers were here, head on down to the auditorium during your scheduled time and get photographed!  If you were dissatisfied with your last set of pictures and would like a retake, you must return the original portrait package that you purchased, in order to receive a new package.  Schedules are posted on Main Street and additional order forms are available in the front office.  Please see Mrs. Shapiro in the front office with questions.

Now for sports related news…

Last night, JV football beat Westminster 21-3.

The golf team defeated Boonsboro with a close game of 171-178. They finished with 14 wins, 0 losses and 1 tie.  The best in Linganore history!

JV boys’ soccer beat Oakdale 3-0.  Girls’ Varsity soccer also beat Oakdale with a score of 2-1.

The JV volleyball team played at Oakdale and won 2-1.

Tonight, the Varsity football team plays at Wootton High School. Kickoff is at 6:30 pm and admission is $5.00 for adults, $3.00 for ages 12-18, $1.00 for ages 7-11, and free for senior citizens, military, and police. Students must present their school I.D. card to receive the student discount.  Gates opens at 5:45 pm.
