Do you have STAR talent? The National Honor Society is looking for some talented Lancers for this year’s talent show. Talent Show auditions will be held on Wednesday, March 2nd, in the drama room D101. All talents are welcome. Please come prepared with your music, instruments, or any props. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Sands after school in room C221.

FCPS and the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce are working together on a young entrepreneur program called Startup Frederick. If you are interested in this program, please see either Ms. Beachy or Mrs. Radil-Harris, immediately. The online application deadline is Friday, March 4th. There will be a practice after school on Thursday, March 10th, for those competing. The Linganore competition will be held Tuesday, March 15th.

Be Sure You Are Ready! Are you ready to participate in the upcoming elections? Are you registered to vote? Would you like to be an Election Judge? You can take care of all these things today during all lunch shifts. Visit the table from the League of Women Voters for Linganore’s Voter Registration Drive! Be sure to bring your license or ID with you.

Attention all ceramic students: Mrs. Geisser wants all semester one students to pick up their finished works from last semester. Be sure to get them this week, or they will be thrown out.

The annual spelling bee will be held on Wednesday, March 9th, in the Media Center from 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm.

The after school review sessions for AP Psychology will begin next Monday, March 7th. Please see Mr. Miller in room A225 for more details.

Congratulations to the Lancers World Scholar’s Cup delegation. Our teams took first, third, and fifth overall, and came home with over forty medals and eight trophies for many different topics, including first place in debate, the Da Vinci award, and seven of the top ten individuals. Please congratulate Emily Barbagallo, Richard Zhang, Kasol Smaha, Garret Whieler, Brendan McCann, Maleeha Coleburn, Laura Glawe, Samantha Buckman, Hugh Norko, Dalton Mongue, and J.D. Ensor for their success.

Congratulations to the LHS Mock Trial team on making the playoffs! The team had a fantastic regular season and is ready for the post season. They currently hold the first seed and have their first match Wednesday, March 2nd, at 5:00 pm at the courthouse. Doors lock at 5:00 pm, so if you wish to cheer on the team, be there beforehand.

Congratulations to the Linganore Indoor Color Guard for their terrific performance this weekend. The group finished third out of six groups in their division, with a dramatic improvement over previous weeks. The guard competes again this weekend at Urbana High School.

Anyone interested in playing Varsity tennis this year must turn in their required paperwork to Coach Sunkel in room A139 today. Tryouts begin Tuesday, March 1st.
