#BestofLHS: What do you love about our school and community?

by Kaylee Henry, Editor

Linganore High School, open since 1962 and rebuilt in 2010, is a school with 1,490 individuals, but what makes it so unique? In the New Year 2016, Lancer Media is celebrating what we love most about LHS with the hashtag #BestofLHS2016.

Maybe it’s the fact that there is sport, club, activity for every student to participate in. Our boys basketball team was the 2004 and 2005 regional champs. Football has been I-70 champs the past three years. Poms won States in 2015. Those don’t even include our academic success.

We, as a school take part in exciting opportunities every year such as Mr. Linganore, pep rallies, Safe and Sane, and even the unofficial but hilarious “drive your tractor to school” day.

We also have school spirit that makes us proud. These include:

  • Driving a tractor to school is  socially acceptable.
  • Our hashtag #LHSorDie
  • American flags hung from students vehicles
  • Best tribe out of all the counties
  • Sportsmanship
  • Dual Enrollment
  • Little Lancer Preschool
