The Unified Track team is hosting a meet today, April 8, 2015. The team will also be competing in this competition. Other teams that will be participating include Urbana, Oakdale, Walkersville, Middletown, and Brunswick.

For those that are not familiar with unified sports, the team practices and competes with special needs students.

Every year, the Varsity Track and Field athletes volunteer to help the Unified team to host the meet. They help with the raking of sand, measuring and recording distances for field events, manning stopwatches during races, and completing other tasks to keep the meet running smoothly.

Unfortunately, the boys and girls Track teams have their own track meets they are competing in today. Unified coach Robert Peters has encouraged team members to recruit their fellow peers to help run the event. Though some NJROTC members have volunteered, Peters revealed at practice yesterday that he would need more help.

If you are interested, email Coach Peters sometime today or report to the Linganore track by the football field at 2:30 pm today after school. There you will receive instructions on what you can help with. There will be snacks and drinks for both the athletes and volunteers.
