With prom tickets on sale this week, one of the biggest arrangements on the minds of both girls and boys is who to go with. Some people choose to go with a large group of friends. Others go solo for the night. But those who choose to go with a date have even more to take into consideration: How will I ask or be asked?

Sometimes a classic and simple approach is the best way to achieve success; just ask sophomore Brendan McCann, who promposed to junior Alyssa Mattison the old fashioned way on Wednesday, April 15.

“It wasn’t easy because I don’t have any original ideas, so I just went and bought her flowers,” McCann said. “Someone told me she liked tulips.”

McCann’s source of this fact was a reliable.  Mattison loves tulips.

Mattison said she was surprised, and yet not surprised about the promposal. “I didn’t expect it to happen during third period, but I knew it was going to happen,” she said.

It may not have happened during third period if McCann hadn’t found the correct classroom. He said he had trouble finding it at first because he thought Mrs. Natalie Rebetsky’s room was on the complete opposite side of the school.

“I’m most looking forward to dancing, particularly the slow dancing,” Mattison says.
