To celebrate February, this is the third story in a series about LHS Alumni who were high school sweethearts.

‘Together forever’ is an almost impossible commitment to make to someone, especially when you begin as high school students. Approximately two percent of all marriages are to  high school sweethearts. LHS Alumni of all ages are among that two percent. On the Linganore High School Alumni Association page on Facebook, dozens of alumni have shared photos celebrating marriage and love.

Christopher and Kendall

After meeting through a mutual friend, Christopher Stevens and Kendall Oroian began dating in 2008. Their fondest dating memories were made together at the Johnsville Rodeo.

People often feel that ‘opposites attract’ in relationships. Kendall reveals that this couple’s biggest difficulty has always been their different personality types. “He is very clean and neat. Everything has to be done now! I am a very laid back and ‘get to it when I get to it’ type of person,” Kendall says. “We balance each other well, but sometimes it can lead to an argument. We have learned when to let things go and when to bring up something that is bothering us.”

Kendall says she always “just kind of knew” Christopher was “the one.”

As for Christopher, he says he knew it was true love when he asked Kendall to make him chocolate chip cookies without any chocolate chips. After Kendall handpicked all of the chocolate chips out of the cookie mix, Christopher knew she was the girl for him.

Though this couple never dated until after graduation, they incorporated Linganore into their wedding in 2013. All flower arrangements were done by the LHS Future Farmers of America.
