Class of 2015 celebrates college acceptances: How far will you go?
May 24, 2015
In a few short days, on June 2, the Class of 2015 will say good-bye to each other. Once the summer winds down, it will be time for them to start focusing on their upcoming chapter.
Jackie Brinkmann will be attending the college farthest from Linganore–2601 miles, University of California, San Diego. The colleges closest to Linganore are Frederick Community College (11.5 miles,) and Hood College (16.3 miles).
One of the most interesting majors is Abby Hilton’s choice, Aquatic Engineering. She will be attending University of Rhode Island, which is almost a 7-hour drive from LHS.
A majority of the senior class will be attending in-state schools such as Salisbury, Towson, and University of Maryland. A popular option among the senior class is FCC, where many students will be attending for two years before transferring to another school.
A majority of the out-of-state schools are in Pennsylvania or nearby Virginia. These schools include Franklin and Marshall College (Connor Bannon); University of Pittsburgh (Olivia Goldstein and Haylie Kohn), Susquehanna University (Ryan Beckwith); and Shippensburg (Isabella Marcellino).
Virginia Tech receives many LHS graduates (Natalie Rupinski, Sydney Garwood, and Neal Roberts). Mr. Jeremy Brown’s alma mater is James Madison University (Liam Vauk, Marisa Captain, Evan Rowan, Kamryn Breidenstein, Matt Graziano, and Erin Formulak). Grant Waxter will attend William and Mary.
Lancer Media wishes the best of luck to the Class of 2015 in their future educational and future careers.
