Juniors and seniors, a representative from FCC will be visiting LHS tomorrow, May 13th.  If you would like to learn more about the admissions process at FCC, please see Ms. Riley in Student Services.

Did you know 50.1 million Americans struggle to put food on the table? The junior class is trying to collect 2000 cans to help the hungry. Bring your cans into your first period teacher ASAP. The class that collects the most cans will win a donut party!

Underclassmen can pick up their pre-ordered yearbooks during all lunch shifts Friday May 22nd. Bring your receipt just in case. If you’re absent that day see Mrs. Bozzonetti in room A206 after the 22nd.

Drama Honor Society members, please have your thespian point sheets and Lazzie voting forms finished and turned in to Mr. Lazarus by this Friday may 15th.

The Junior Class is having a fundraiser at both Jersey Mike’s locations in Mt. Airy and Frederick this Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 9pm. Make sure to bring a flyer or mention the fundraiser.

The Acting II and Advanced Acting Showcase will be presented this Friday the 15th in the theatre at 7:00pm.  The showcase is free; however, the Drama department asks that you bring a canned good to donate to the food bank.  Come and support our student actors and see what they have been working on for the last semester.

The National Art Honor Society  will be having a meeting on Tuesday, May 19th after school from 2:30- 3:00  in A211 for all interested students who would like to join for next year.  If you are unable to attend please see Ms. Geisser for more information.

The final AP Macro review session will be held tomorrow in room A227 from 2:15 to 3pm.

The Harry Potter Alliance is hosting a Quidditch tournament after school, next Thursday, May 21st, to benefit a local animal shelter. Your team of seven can sign up in the library, there is a fee of $15 per team.

Linganore Students were joined by a THS student on Saturday to compete in the World Scholar’s Cup. Combined, our students came home with 45 medals and 5 trophies. The team of Emily Barbagallo, Laura Glawe, and Brendan McCann took 3rd place overall and the team of Jonathan Gober, Jacob Butehorn and Burke Roberts took first place overall.   They have qualified to compete in the global round in either Malaysia or Ireland, and at the Tournament of Champions at Yale University.  Please congratulate them on a truly remarkable achievement.

Varsity softball beat South Hagerstown 16 to 1 yesterday. Great job ladies!

Congratulations to Andrew Tran and Harry Rasmussen for placing 3rd place in the boys doubles division at the Frederick County tennis tournament this past weekend. Also congratulations to Andrea Huston and Courtney Shrider who defended their title as Frederick County Girls Tennis Doubles Champions. Both couples will compete in the regional tournament this Friday and Saturday at Baker Park. Good luck lancers!
