The quarters for cancer fundraiser competition  is between all 10 FCPS high schools and the school that raises the most money by noon this Friday the 27th will win a DJ to play at their school during lunch from KEY 103 Radio. Last week we reached $250! Our goal is $1000.  Help reach the next level of $500 and see Ms. Poffinberger in a smashing 80’s prom dress. Drop off any change or donations today at lunch.  

The voting window is now open for all FCPS students to cast their vote for the next Student Member of the Board of Education.  There are 6 candidates running for the office and complete details about each can be found at the address below. To vote, students simply go to address below and login with their same username and password as the network log-in.

Attention AP Euro students taking the AP exam.  Please come by Mr. Burch’s classroom A215 at your earliest convenience to pick up your AP Review calendar.  Reviews begin next Thursday March 5.

This week is National FFA Week. There are more than 600,000 FFA members across the country. Linganore is one of the largest FFA chapters in the state of Maryland. FFA invites you to participate in their spirit week this week! Today is Made in the USA day! Support FFA tomorrow by wearing your blue and gold apparel.

As you have all heard at lunch, Linganore wants to raise the bar on recycling! Everything can be recycled with the exception of wax products, styrofoam, and rubber. All other materials can be thrown into the blue recycling bins at lunch! Help out by doing your part and recycle at lunch!

Calling all talented Lancers! Talent Show Auditions will be held this Wednesday, February 25th in the LHS drama room starting at 2:30pm. We are looking for singers, dancers, musicians, and performers of all kinds. Please bring your music and equipment. Your entire song/act does not need to be complete, just prepare a preview. Performances can be individual or group. Consider coming out to audition. Please see Mrs. Sands or Mr. Lake with questions. The talent show is scheduled for Saturday March 21st. Cash prizes will be awarded to winners!

Our Mock Trial  defense team will be going against Brunswick High School tonight in the first round of the playoffs.  If you see Maria Pellicier, Ryan Stark, Hugh Norko, Sofia Schuller, Garrett Gillespie or Patrick Conboy, please wish them luck!

The Varsity ice hockey team had a tough fight last night in the state semi-finals with a score of 2-4. The JV Frederick Co-Op team plays Friday night in the State Championship at 6:00 at the Gardens Ice House in Laurel. Come out on Friday to support them!

Any student interested in playing for the Boys Varsity Tennis team must turn in their paperwork to Mr. Sunkel in Room A139 by this Friday, February 27th.

Great job to our lancers on the Indoor Track Team who competed in the state championship meet last night. Bailey Tregoning placed 3rd in  high jump and Adam Beiser placed 2nd in the 55 meter hurdles. Adam raced his all time personal best of 7.62 seconds. Congratulations to both of these outstanding athletes.

Both boys and girls JV and varsity basketball teams won their games against Westminster last night! Congratulations lancers! Thanks to all those who came out to support the boys in their senior night last night.

There will be a mandatory outdoor track meeting for the Girls and Boys track team tomorrow February 25th. Girl will meet at 5:15pm in Ms. Papuchis’s Room (A229
), and the boys will meet at 4:30 in Mr. Eckard room (A132). Parents are welcomed to join. You will have an opportunity to meet the Coaches and discuss goals for the season.
