Veteran’s Day special announcement:

This Wednesday, November 11th, people from all across the nation will pause to honor the men and women who have served our country.  Linganore High School would like to join in on the celebration of this national holiday we call “Veteran’s Day”, as we recognize the bravery and selflessness of every man and woman who has risked their own life for the freedom of all Americans.

Veteran’s Day is not a celebration of our freedom, but of the price that some have paid for that freedom; every soldier who has seen the horror of war, and every service person who made the ultimate sacrifice to protect the rights that each one of us hold important.  It is our veterans who inspire Americans today to be a part of the service and devote their own aspirations to keeping our nation’s well-being.

On Saturday, the Lancer Marching Band had the honor of meeting and performing for World War II veterans in Washington D.C.  Then, on Sunday, the 2015 Lancer Band set a new school record by competing at the Atlantic Coast Championships in Hershey, PA, finishing as a Silver Medal finalist with a score of 91.2.  Congratulations to our award winning marching band!

Lancers, here’s a chance to spread your love of reading!  The LHS Drama Department is holding a Book Drive beginning today until November 22nd. Bring in your new or gently used children’s books to the donation box in the front office, or to the donation box at showings of Elephant and Piggie: We Are In a Play!  All books will go to the Maryland Book Bank in Baltimore.
