The quarters for cancer fundraiser competition  is between all 10 FCPS high schools and the school that raises the most money by noon this Friday the 27th will win a DJ to play at their school during lunch from KEY 103 Radio. Last week we reached $250!  Make sure to check out Mr Burch who will be supporting the ravens today! Help reach the next level of $500 and see Ms. Poffinberger in a smashing 80’s prom dress. Drop off any change or donations today at lunch.

The voting window is now open for all FCPS students to cast their vote for the next Student Member of the Board of Education.  There are 6 candidates running for the office and complete details about each can be found at the address below. To vote, students simply go to address below and login with their same username and password as the network log-in.

Congressman Van Hollen has announced his Service Academy Forums for Classes entering college in 2016 or later. Interested students and parents are invited to attend and learn about admission and academic requirements for entry to the U.S. military service academies.The forum will be held Thursday March 12 at McDaniel College and Thursday March 19, at the Montgomery County Executive Office building. Seniors, First Energy is now accepting applications for their Lineman Training Program.  This program would prepare you for a job in the electric utility industry.  If you are interested, stop by C103 and talk to Mr. Brown or Ms. Radil-Harris for details on this opportunity.

Calling all talented Lancers! Talent Show Auditions will be held this Wednesday, February 25th in the LHS drama room starting at 2:30pm. We are looking for singers, dancers, musicians, and performers of all kinds. Please bring your music and equipment. Your entire song/act does not need to be complete, just prepare a preview. Performances can be individual or group. Consider coming out to audition. Please see Mrs. Sands or Mr. Lake with questions.

Our Mock Trial  defense team will be going against Brunswick High School this Tuesday, 2/24 in the first round of the playoffs.  If you see Maria Pellicier, Ryan Stark, Hugh Norko, Sofia Schuller, Garrett Gillespie or Patrick Conboy, please wish them luck!

Congradulations to our JV Ice Hockey players for an overtime win in the state semi-finals against Walter Johnson HS.  The JV Frederick Co-Op team now plays Friday night in the State Championship at 6:00 at the Gardens Ice House in Laurel.  The Varsity team plays tonight at 5:00 in the state semi-finals at the Gardens Ice House.  Come out to cheer on the coolest game in town.

JV boys basketball lost a tough game against Century on Friday night with a score of 33-29. Congratulations to our varsity boys for their victory against century with a score of 54-45!

Congratulations to both the JV and Varsity girls basketball teams for their victories against Century on Friday! Great job lancers!

Any student interested in playing for the Boys Varsity Tennis team must turn in their paperwork to Mr. Sunkel in Room A139 by this Friday, February 27th.

Good luck to our lancers on the Indoor Track Team who will be racing in the state championship meet tonight at the PG Sports Complex. Bailey Tregoning will be competing in the 1 mile and high jump and Adam Beiser in the 55 meter hurdles and 55 meter dash.

There will be a mandatory track meeting for the Girls and Boys track team at 5:15pm on Wednesday February 25th. Please meet in Ms. Papuchis’s Room, A229. Parents are welcomed to join. You will have an opportunity to meet the Coaches and discuss goals for the season.

Congratulations to the wrestling team who placed 5th in the county tournament on Friday! Quinn Waxter took 3rd at 126 lbs, Devin Brosenne placed 3rd at 182 lbs, Patrick Meade placed 3rd at 195 lbs and David Schultz placed 2nd at 170 lbs. Great job lancers!
