News for Monday, December 7, 2015
Attention sophomores: Class rings will be delivered tomorrow during all lunch shifts. Make sure to see the Josten’s representative to pick up your order!
Attention juniors: The United States Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (“you-sam-rid”) at Ft. Detrick, is now accepting applications for their challenging scientific research internships. This opportunity is similar to the National Cancer Institute internships that were recently advertised. Eight weeks of full-time, paid training this summer is required and the internship will continue for two periods, both semesters, during the student’s senior year (for weighted credit). To apply for a USAMRIID internship, you must be: a junior, age 17 by June 20, 2016, and a U.S. citizen. A Find Out First was recently sent out with the link to the application. See any science teacher, Ms. Radil-Harris, or Mr. Brown for more information. Completed applications are due by January 20.
Congratulations to the wrestling team who participated in the North Hagerstown Armed Forces Dual Tournament this past weekend. The young Lancer team posted a respectable 3-4 record.
Good luck to the swim team as they take on Walkersville today for an away meet at the Walkersville High School pool at 6:00 pm.
Your donation will support the student journalists of Linganore High School. Your contribution will allow us to purchase camera/recording equipment and software. We hope to raise enough money to re-start a monthly printed issue of our paper.
