Congratulations to senior Anna Spitale for winning the FCPS Secondary Science & Engineering Fair program design contest. Her design will be featured on the front cover of the science fair’s program.

Spitale worked on the design for about a week. What was originally an assignment in her computer graphics, turned into an award- winning project.

“I was shocked and amazed [about winning]. Winning has allowed people to see what I create and who I am,” said Spitale.

Spitale said she wanted to to incorporate her own style while still adhering to the guidelines of the required engineering and science theme. Her unique style and design stood out from several other competitors from all over Fredrick County.

Sophomore Tyler Hanes and Senior Joseph Morris received honorable mentions for their art.

The science fair will be held at Walkersville High School this Saturday, March 21, from 3-4 pm.
