Class of 2019–People You Need to Know: Deputy Tim Calimer, school resource officer
The Lance interviewed Deputy Tim Calimer as a part of the 54 Questions feature. Calimer is our school’s resource officer. His job is to protect the school, deal with students who break the law during school, to be a role model, and be a trusted adult for students. This is Calimer’s second year at Linganore.
Why do ninth graders need to know Deputy Calimer?
Why you need to know Deputy Calimer is because he breaks the stereotype of policeman. His positive attitude, hilarious sense of humor, and playful sarcasm make him unique. Calimer helps students with a wide variety of problems including cyber bullying, physical violence, drug problems, and if you just need someone to listen, he can do that, too.
Calimer’s advice for freshman is, “Don’t be afraid of failure. It’s okay to make mistakes.”
English teacher Mrs. Samantha Servey said, “He’s done a fantastic job for us. He is always responsive. He has done a really good job working with the kids.
