Annual Bake Auction raises $800 for FFA scholarship fund

FFA and cake bakers come to help out with the annual cake auction.

At the community show cake auction October 6, the Burrell Scholarship cake (a blue-ribbon-winning pound cake) was auctioned to Lawson’s of New Market for $800. The next highest cake was Suzanne Moxely’s apple spice cake with a spice icing, and it sold for $600 to Mountain Gate Restaurant.

At the evening event, this year’s FFA Ambassador, Rachel Strasburger, was announced. The FFA Ambassador represents Linganore at FFA functions such as chapter banquets and the MAEF (Maryland Agriculture Educators Foundation) dinner and other events.
