The Global Selfie: Environmental science poses for NASA
May 7, 2014
Mrs. Ann Andrex and her period 1 and 3 environmental science classes participated in NASA’s “#GlobalSelfie” on April 22 (Earth Day). This is NASA’s version of 21st century Earth Day!
Since satellites are constantly taking photographs of Earth; NASA has asked the residents of Earth to step outside and take a picture of where they are on the planet. After, they are instructed to upload the picture to a social media site and hashtag “#GlobalSelfie.”
Much like the way Google Earth works, NASA will create a global picture of Earth using the pictures that people posted and hash tagged.
Andrex purchased Earth Day t-shirts for her classes.
On the Google Plus Hangout there are over 900 pictures that have been uploaded.
On the Flickr page there are almost 500 pictures.
For any additional information you can see Mrs. Andrex in room B125 or NASA’s website.
