RHO KAPPA will not be meeting this Wednesday during club day.

Congratulations to Megan Newcomer! Megan won a Silver Medal at the National level in the Scholastics Art and Writing Awards this year. There were about 255,000 entrants throughout the country and about 32 silver and gold medal winners in the state of MD. Megan’s work will be on display in June in NYC at Carnegie Hall.

Are you interested in learning to be a leader or putting your leadership skills to work? You should consider a run for office in the SGA or your Class Council. All current 9th-11th grade students are eligible to be a candidate in the upcoming April elections. To find our more talk to any current officer or advisor. You can pick up a candidate info packet outside room C103. Deadline for candidate applications is Monday, March 31sy.

Linganore is putting together a team of volunteers to help clean up the banks of the Monocacy River and River mist Park in Frederick on Saturday, April 5, 2014 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. (rain or shine). This event is being held in conjunction with the 26th annual Potomac River Watershed Cleanup. If you are interested in helping out, see Mr. Sunkel in Room A139 to sign-up.

Congratulations to Linganore Key Club. Members of the Linganore club attended the Capital Region Leadership Convention over the weekend. The club was recognized for its outstanding efforts this past year in submitting all forms, money, and paperwork, was named a Bronze level national club for UNICEF, and received top designation in both the district project and governor’s project. Senior Lauren Regulinski was named the distinguished club vice president for Division 9. Junior Kira Zimmerman was installed as the new Division 7-A Lieutenant Governor. Club advisor, Mr. Brown, received the Capital District Outstanding Faculty Advisor award. Congratulations to all who attended and to our award winning Key Club

Unified Track & Field members must have all paperwork in no later than tomorrow, March 25. Team members will not attend the Track & Field meet on Wednesday if paper work is not submitted on Tuesday. Practice is currently scheduled for tomorrow after school at 2:30pm at the stadium, be sure to dress for the weather!

Congratulations to the Boy’s Baseball teams in their wins this weekend. The varsity team beat Westminster 3-2 and the JV team won against Middletown 3-2. Also, the varsity softball team beat Westminster 10-0, and JV beat Middletown 16-6. Great job Lancers!

Also, the Boy’s Lacrosse team dominated South Hagerstown, with the JV team winning 19-4 and the Varsity team winning 20-9. Great job guys!
