Interested in applying for membership in the LHS National Honor Society? There will be an informational meeting for students and their families tonight at 6:30pm in the LHS auditorium. Please see Mrs. Sands and Mr. Lake for questions.

Attention CURRENT NHS members! Our first meeting will be today after school at 2:30pm in room C221. Attendance is mandatory!

The robotics team will have a meeting in Mr. Bergeron’s room today after school at 4:30.

And now for a special announcement from Senior Ashley Zink.

Hi, for those of you who don’t know me, I’m Ashley Zink and I am the service coordinator for the LHS National Honor Society. I have Alopecia Universalis, which is an autoimmune disease that causes my hair to fall out. September is Alopecia awareness month, and the LHS National Honor Society will be partnering with the Mount Airy Greene Turtle on Monday September 22nd to host a fund for friends night. We will be fundraising for the National Alopecia Areata Foundation, to help find a treatment or cure. Please try to come out between 4-10pm to help us fund raise. On monday, in advisement, each teacher will be handing out slips of paper that the Greene Turtle has provided for us for this fundraiser. If you are able, please come out with your family and friends, watch some sports and eat some great food to help support an important cause. Don’t forget to bring that paper with you though, as that is the only way a portion of the proceeds will go to NAAF. If you have any questions, or need more papers, please feel free to see me or Mrs. Sands. Thank you.

Congratulations to both the girls Varsity and JV soccer teams who played against Frederick last night. Varsity won with a score of 4-0 and JV won 11-0.

Both the boys JV and varsity soccer teams played hard fought games yesterday against Frederick. Unfortunatly they lost. Come out tomorrow to support both teams at a home game against Oakdale!

Congratulations to the JV and Varsity Volleyball teams on their wins over Frederick last night. Please come out and support them against Oakdale Thursday – JV starting at 6 and Varisty at 7.
