On February 5, senior Hadley Robertson signed her National Letter of Intent to play lacrosse at Shepherd University in Shepherdstown, West Virginia.
Robertson has been playing lacrosse for the past 10 years. She drew inspiration from her older siblings, who also played lacrosse.
“My older sister and brother both played lacrosse… and I would do anything to be like her,” Robertson said.
Robertson is excited to take part in the lacrosse team at Shepherd University. “I just hope to honestly have a great team culture,” Robertson said.
Stacy Robertson, Robertson’s mother, emphasized the importance of attending her child’s games. That support helped her advance her career in lacrosse.

Robertson’s support from her parents influences how she behaves on the field.
Robertson’s coach, Dean Coccia, described her warm personality and what she contributes to the team camaraderie.
“She [Hadley] is a very kind person, very social,” Coccia said. “[She is] someone who knows right from wrong and does a great job of helping her teammates deal with the stress of high school.”
Although Robertson is a keen teammate, her personality is not the only thing that drives her success on the field.
“Her speed is her advantage,” Coccia said. “She’s a very versatile lacrosse player. She is able to score goals, read defenses and feed the ball.”
“…Hadley has played a lot for the team, she has a lot of experience in dealing with players that are much older than her, maybe a little stronger than her early in her career, when she was freshman and sophomore,” said Coccia. “Now that she’s a senior, she knows how to play the game at a very fast pace.”
Robertson’s level of experience has excelled beyond her grade level since freshman year. This experience has prepared her for the intensity of playing at a college level.
Robertson knew she wanted to attend Shepherd University after her second visit there.
“The second time I went, it was a beautiful day out, everyone was outside,” Robertson said. “It [the college] just felt very welcoming and warm, so I just knew I would fit right in.”
She will be majoring in business management.
