Lancer Spotlight 2/16/22: Varsity Cheerleading takes on States

On February 16, the Varsity Cheer team will be competing for the State Champion title at Harford Community College. The reigning state champions, will compete with 12 teams for the 3A/4A title.
The road to states has been paved with nothing but wins.
On February 3, the team traveled to Urbana High School to compete at Counties. The cheer team earned a score of 123, taking first place.
On February 10, the team won first place at Regionals at Harford Community College, with a score of 124.5.
In the fall of 2021, the team had a score of 124.9, almost a perfect score. It was by far the best cheer performance. Ending the fall season with 2A State Champions.
The team currently holds three state champion titles, five regional champion titles, and 16 FCPS county titles.
The team captains are Senior Kerrin Kelsey, Junior Amanda Chesebrough, Senior Olivia Addis and Senior Rachel Watts. The team captains have been working very hard to keep the team together and strong.
Not only have the captains been doing it all, each member of the team has been working hard and has been pushing themselves to be their best.
The team has been cheering together since they were little. By cheering together for so long, it has made their bond very strong. Junior Morgan Thompson and Captain Chesebrough have been cheering together for over 10 years.
The team will be performing at 6:32pm. Doors open at 5.
