Homecoming week and its multitude of events including the Homecoming dance, community parade, and Spirit Week is one of the most anticipated weeks of the LHS school year, and it’s within reach!

Homecoming tickets are now for sale for $25 until Thursday, September 23. Tickets can be bought during all lunch shifts from Mr. Jeremy Brown, SGA Advisor, next to the AP office. The dance will be held on Saturday, October 2 from 7:00 – 10:00 p.m on Main Street, the cafeteria, and the patio. This year’s theme is 60 years of fun to celebrate 60 years of LHS!

“They don’t have to worry about who they come with, most people come in groups,” said Brown.

Due to Covid-19, this year only those attending LHS are permitted to attend Homecoming, and masks will be required while inside the building. Despite potential frustrations, this is a good effort to keep the dance Covid-19 free.

This year, the community parade will be held Saturday, September 25 at 10:00 a.m. on Main Street in New Market and the Fall Spirit Week will be held from Monday, September 27 to Friday, October 1.

Homecoming court voting has also started and will be accepting votes until Wednesday, September 22 at 1:00 p.m. on the Linganore SGA website. The Homecoming Court will be announced Friday, October 1 during halftime of the varsity football game. Don’t forget to vote!
