Tonight from 6:00-8:00 p.m Linganore National Art Honor Society is holding a ceramic ornament painting night. $15 for Adults, $12 for students. All Proceeds go to NAHS Scholarships. Snacks provided. Glaze and firing are provided. Will get them back before Xmas. There is a sign- up for ornament night right next to classrooms A207 and A205, or you can email Ms. Geisser toRSVP. Attention athletes if you are signing to play a sport next year in college you need to see Coach Easterday this week. We are in the process of planning Signing Day for November.
The Linganore Drama boosters’ program is participating in the Twin Ridge Elementary School Trunk or Treat this coming Friday, October 25 in the Twin Ridge parking lot. We need Drama students to sign up as volunteers for the event, which is looking to be lots of fun! Games, costumes, and passing out candy! Signups will be posted on the bulletin board outside D101. This is a great way to earn volunteer hours for ITS!
The mock trial team will be holding its first informational meeting on Thursday, Oct. 24 from 2:30-3:15 p.m in Mrs. Hendi’s room – A213. All new and returning students should attend. For more information or if you aren’t able to attend the meeting, please contact Mrs. Hendi or Mrs. Peterson.
The Science National Honors Society members will be performing volunteering this Saturday, October 26 at the Audubon Wildlife Sanctuary in New Market from 9:00 a.m until noon. Any member interested in working should sign-up in Room A139 (Mr. Sunkel).
Frederick Community College will be at Linganore on Tuesday, October 29 during PREP. Sign up in Naviance or Student Services to meet with FCC.
HS Girls Military STEM Career Night the Maryland STEM Festival invites all high school students to Frederick HS, Thursday, October 24, 6:00-7:30 p.m (must enter by 6:30 PM), to learn about STEM career opportunities that the branches of the military offer. After presentations, attendees may speak one-on-one with military personnel about career options.
Freshmen and Sophomores: The Career and Technology Center is holding its Open House on Thursday, October 24 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. This is an opportunity to see all of the programs offered including Culinary Arts, Criminal Justice, Carpentry, Electricity, Auto Body, and Cosmetology. In order to apply to CTC for next year, a student must shadow the program of interest. Pick up a shadow permission slip in Student Services.
Attention Seniors Interested in getting into a high-paying career quickly after graduation… There is a program available to earn your Associate’s degree at no cost to you and become a line worker for First Energy Power Company. Consider attending an open house this Saturday at the community college in Martinsburg, WV. See Mr. Brown or Ms. Radil-Harris in C101 for details, or stop by Student Services.
