November 11 to 14 is Writer’s Week! Monday through Thursday, there will be activities during PREP and after school for students to earn honor society hours, get writing assistance, and just have fun! During PREP, there will be individual days to work on Young Authors’ Contest entries, essays for other classes, scholarship writing, and submissions to The Watermark. After school every day, you can come make cards for orphans, hospitalized children, servicemen and women, and the elderly. Sign up for any of these activities outside Ms. Troxel’s room, C222.

Purdue University will be at Linganore on Monday, November 1. Sign up in Student Services or Naviance if you are interested in learning more about Purdue.

The ASVAB test is an excellent tool to help student grades 10-12 gain information about career interests and aptitude. Are you interested in learning or improving your leadership skills? Would you like to serve our school and community as a leader? If so, you need to apply to be an SGA committee or event chairpersons or to run for one of the vacant SGA officer positions. All the details are on the SGA website!

The deadline to register for the Advance Placement exams for students currently enrolled is November 1. Payment of $94 per exam can be made by schoolcashonline.com or by check or cash. See Ms. Smith or Ms. Boyenton in the AP office if you need assistance.

The SGA would like to thank all the students, staff, and parents who donated blood for our fall blood drive. We collected 25 units yesterday- enough to save as many as 75 lives! We hope to see even more donors at the next drive in April.
