Are you interested in running for the boy’s indoor track and field team? If you are, there will be a brief informational meeting in Coach Eckard’s room, A136, today at 2:20 p.m. The meeting will end at 2:50 p.m. If you want to run, throw, or jump, you must come to this meeting.

FCPS encourages female high school students interested in STEM* careers to attend the Women in Science and Engineering meeting Wednesday, November 13 7:00 p.m – 8:15 p.m at the FCPS Earth and Space Science Lab. Meet Dr. Kelly Warfield, Vice President Vaccine and Anti- Infectives Research and Development Emergent BioSolutions. 

Today is the second day of Writer’s Week! During PREP, students will be working on essays and writing for other classes. You can still sign up to make cards after school today for orphans, hospitalized children, servicemen and women, and the elderly. Tomorrow during PREP, you can get help with scholarship writing. Card making will be happening again after school tomorrow. Sign up outside of Ms. Troxel’s room, C222. 

Attention juniors with an interest in science, medicine, research, information technology, graphics and media, bioinformatics, security, computer programming, or scientific writing: Applications are now being accepted for the Student Intern Program at the National Cancer Institute- Ft. Detrick. These internships last a full one year with eight consecutive weeks of summer training before the senior year (with pay), and continuing half day during the entire senior year (for weighted credit).To learn more about these competitive internships contact Ms. Radil-Harris. 

The LHS Academic Team first meeting will take place today from 2:30 to 4:00 pm in Mr. Hahn’s room.

Linganore Drama is proud to present their fall play, It’s a Wonderful Life, based off the famous Christmas movie starring Jimmy Stewart. Opening night is this Friday at 7:00 p.m, and there are also two shows this Saturday at 2:00 p.m and 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $5 for students, and $10 for adults.

Girls basketball tryouts have been changed for Friday times are now: Varsity- 2:30-4:00 and JV- 4:00-5:30 

Good morning from the French Honor Society. National French Week started yesterday. French students have prepared two competitions for all Lancers. First we would like to invite you to help us find beautifully decorated rocks that have been placed in different places around the school. If you find a rock, bring it to C229 for a special prize.
