The Linganore car show is coming to town on Sunday, April 29 from 10 a.m. through 2 p.m.  Specators and participants should go to the lower parking lot near the stadium.  Don’t miss it!

Proceeds from the event will go toward the Student Homelessness Initiative Partnership (SHIP) and the Children of Incarcerated Parents partnership (COIPP).

The Student Homelessness Initiative partnership (SHIP) raises money and collects donations to help students all across America dealing with homelessness, hunger, poverty and financial struggle. They provide the child with clothes, shoes, food, and most importantly a warm place to stay.  The Children of Incarcerated Parents partnership (COIPP) strives to help children with incarcerated parents and their care givers with food, supplies, toys, resources and much more.

The event has over 170 shares from the Golden Gears club on Facebook and has been shared all over social media platforms.  In10se barbecue and Snowie of Maryland will be at the car show catering the event. There will also be faice painting.  Entry to get in is a monetary donation at the gate, although there is no set flat fee.

Also going on at the event will be the Ford Drive 4 UR School event going on in Linganore’s top parking lot. Proceeds from the Ford event will go towards Linagnore’s  Safe and Sane event. Safe and Sane is an all night party for graduating seniors.  It is a drug and alcohol free environment where seniors can have fun with friends. It takes place the night of graduation, and goes until about 6 a.m. at Mount Saint Marys University.  Each Ford vehicle that is test driven will earn $20 for the school’s safe and sane event, so stop by LHS and test drive a Ford on April 29 from 10 a.m to 5 p.m. There is no pressure to purchase anything.

“The car show is helping two great causes that are prevalent in this county and all over America, so I think everyone is excited to help,” said Dawn Aburto, special education assistant and car show organizers.
