The Career and Technology Center will host its annual Open House today from 6 to 8 pm. This is an excellent opportunity for Freshmen and Sophomore students and their parents to learn about the 23 programs of study at CTC. Students who plan to apply to a CTC program for next year must first shadow. See Ms. Failor in Student Services for a permission form to shadow.
Juniors and Seniors interested in speaking with colleges, the following colleges will be visiting Linganore during PREP. St. Mary’s College on Monday, October 29th and Mount Saint Mary’s on Tuesday, October 30th. Sign up today in Naviance or stop by Student Services to learn more.
On Saturday, October 27th members of the Science National Honor Society have an opportunity to earn 3 community service hours at the Audrey Carroll Audubon Sanctuary from 9 to 12. Students are reminded to bring work gloves and trash cans to place invasive weeds in.
This week, Linganore is shedding light on the national issue of bullying. Orange is the national color for anti-bullying, so all students and faculty will be asked to wear orange tomorrow. The football game will also be an orange out to promote Linganore as an anti-bullying school
Seniors, Please be sure you select your yearbook pose through Victor O’Neill studios by Oct 31, otherwise, a default photo will appear in the yearbook. Your Senior Quote form is due by November 1 to Mrs. Bozzonetti in room A206. Be sure your name is on the form.
The first meeting for the mock trial team will be held today at 2:30 in room A213. This year, the club is assigned a criminal case, so if you are interested in joining, be sure to attend the meeting after school today.
Ryan McFadden came in 9th place during the state golf tournament for the Frederick county CMC division. Great job Ryan and Linganore wish you the best in your future and a merry Christmas and a happy new year.
Linganore’s Varsity & JV cheer teams won first place at their first two competitions last Saturday and this past Tuesday. They compete next at the Frederick County cheer competition on Monday, October 29th, at 7 pm at TJ high school. Please come out and support the Linganore cheer team. Good luck lancers
