Linganore High School hosted a “Swing for the Fences” event that was a silent dinner auction that benefitted the LHS baseball boosters for the Linganore baseball program. The event was hosted at Libertytown Firehall in Libertytown, Maryland on Saturday, February 10th.

Baseball families made themed baskets to be auctioned off at the event along while also auctioning off prizes they received from businesses in the area. People from the community bought tickets and enjoyed dinner catered by Bear Brother’s Catering. While raising money for the baseball program, it was a opportunity for participating businesses to broadcast to the community.

Participating businesses included 7- Eleven, Greg’s Driving School, Linganore Winery, Carter-que, Wagner Meats, and other businesses in the New Market and Mount Airy areas.

Athletes in the baseball program went from business to business asking for donations. The fundraising process give them the experience and skills they can use in the future.

“The event was a great success due to the efforts of the parents and the athletes, ” said head Coach David Keiling.
