The Linganore Playlist–A survey of the best songs of 2018

Andrew Lyons and Bailey Spore

The top 4 songs of 2018 voted for by the Linganore High School students

by Jason Byrd and Andrew Lyons

Editor Jason Byrd and reporter Andrew Lyons decided to bring the school together under one playlist, no matter the clique or musical taste. This one playlist features LHS favorites. The data was collected via a random survey distributed among all four grades.

The top 4 is:

  1. “Mo Bamba” by Sheck Wes
  2. “thank u, next” by Ariana Grande
  3. “Lucid Dreams” by Juice WRLD
  4. “SICKO MODE” by Travis Scott.

Freshman Conner Jackson said, “The top four is pretty good except for, “thank u, next” by Ariana Grande.”

Sophomore Jordyn Vetter said, “I’m kinda surprised by the top four. I didn’t expect there to be so many hip hop songs. I thought, “god is a woman” by Ariana Grande would be in the top four instead of, “thank u, next.”

Senior Christian Nolan said, “I really like the top four, except for, “thank u, next” but that’s because I haven’t listened to it. I feel like, “SICKO MODE should have been higher on the list and “Lucid Dream” should have dropped because it’s too over played.”

Jackson said, “ I would get rid of the pop songs and add some songs from the album Dying To Live by Kodak Black.”

Vetter said, “I listen to a lot of Joji, so I would like to see some songs of his on the playlist.”

Freshman Zach Lyons said,  The playlist is really good, but I think, “Sunflower” by Post Malone should be added.”

The rest of the playlist had much more diversity and more to offer.

This year has been crazy in the music world. We’ve seen new artists, new hit songs, and new albums. Linganore students have very interesting taste, which makes the playlist unique. If you want to listen to the playlist, go to Spotify and find milesjasonbyrd to find this year’s most popular music.
