The Center for Women in Technology (CWIT) at UMBC is pleased to invite high-achieving high school girls who are interested in pursuing computing and engineering majors to campus for a couple of events this fall. Many programs are available to sign up for, including the Cyber 101 Program for interest in computing and the field of cybersecurity, Building Excellence through Scholarships in Technology, and possible visits to students’ schools from UMBC CWIT students. Lancer Media is proud to present live Linganore sporting events. If you can’t make it to the game this Friday, go to the link below to watch your LHS varsity football team take on Westminster Owls. The stream will start at 6:50 with pre-game interviews and discussions.

Underclassmen yearbook pictures are September 20th and 21st. If you are interested in purchasing school portraits, make sure to bring your picture form. Bring your best smile!

Senior picture makeup day is Sept 26 and 27.  Appointments will be sent directly from Victor O’Neill Studios and will occur between 2:15 and 8:30 PM. Please see Mrs. Cline in the front office for your time or call the studio directly at the number below. You must have  Victor O’Neill Studios take your picture to be included in the yearbook. Yearbook poses must be selected by Oct 31

Interested in getting trained in a career field and earn money while doing it?  Then you need to apply for a Youth Apprentice position this fall. There are still positions available in these areas: Cosmetology, Butcher, Agronomy, Heavy Equipment Operator, Mechanic, Plumber’s Assistant, and Electrician’s Assistant. See Mr. Brown or Ms. Radil-Harris today for more details and to get your application started.

All Current National English Honors Society members will meet on Today during PREP in C207. All eligible students interested in joining will meet next week on Monday and Tuesday. Sign up to be called for PREP outside C207.

Students interested in auditioning for All-State or All-County Ensembles should sign up for more information in the D Wing. Band students may sign up for All-State or All-County Band information in the band room. Orchestra and Chorus students should see Mr. Dye for more information about state and county auditions for those groups. Please let Mr. Lloyd or Mr. Dye know of your interest by the end of this week.

Its that time of the year! Auditions for the fall play, Almost Maine, are being held today from 2:30 to 5 in room D101. Be sure to have a short monologue prepared for your audition. Break a leg, Lancers!
