Please find a moment in the next three days to complete student voting for the next student member of the Board of Education. Voting is open to all students in grades 9-12. All the links can be found on the FCPS website main page. Attention any student who has shadowed a program at CTC and wants to apply for a program: All applications are due to CTC by tomorrow, March 9th. You can drop off the completed application to Student Services.
Congratulations goes out to the State of Maryland International Reading Association Council STATE WINNERS from Linganore High School. FANTASTIC WORK and WAY TO GO! Elizabeth Anderson was the 1st place winner for 9th grade poetry for her poem “A Reflection on Knots” ; Emily Seth was the 1st place winner for 10th grade poetry for her poem “Biology” ; Samantha Buckman was the 2nd place winner for 12th grade short story for her story “Viking: Lost to History”.
Drug misuse and abuse is a serious problem in the world, our nation, and our community. Come to school at 6:00 pm tomorrow to see a short film produced by the FBI and Drug Enforcement Agency about this epidemic. A complimentary meal from Chipotle will be served…wait…complimentary means FREE…THERE WILL BE FREE CHIPOTLE TOMORROW! See you tomorrow at 6:00 pm in the auditorium. The film is sponsored by the PTSA and contains strong language and graphic content.
If you are taking the SAT this Saturday, March 11th, at TJ High School, please park on the auditorium side of the building. The gym parking lot will be closed for another event.
The Class of 2020 WILL NOT be meeting for club this Friday.
Want to see your favorite math teacher take a pie to the face on Pi Day, Tuesday, March 14th? Next week, the math department will be raising money during all lunch shifts. The teacher that raises the most money will get the pie to the face! And all the money that is raised will be donated to a charity of the teacher’s choice. Here are the teachers participating: Mrs.Purgason, Mr. Lake, Mr. Hayre, Mr. Conte, Mrs. Byrd, Mrs. Partner, Mrs. Creighton, Mrs. Weiss, Mrs. Hartman, Mrs. Drake, Mr. Eckard and Ms. Brunnet.
GSA is hosting its second annual dance to raise funds for the Trevor Project, a non-profit organization dedicated to the prevention of suicide in LGBTQ teens. Tickets will be on sale through Friday, March 10th, in Ms. Baker’s room for $15. The dance will be at LHS this Saturday, March 11th, at 7:00 pm. Feel free to donate during lunches next week.

The Varsity tennis teams are hosting their annual Quarter Auction Fundraiser on Friday, March 10th. Doors open at 6:00 pm. The event starts at 7:00 pm.
