The NHS Talent Show will have a rehearsal on Tuesday, April 11th, for the program on Wednesday, April 12th, at 7:00 pm. Tickets are $3.00 for students and $5.00 dollars for adults.
The NAHS Color Run scheduled for Saturday, April 8th, has been cancelled.
Attention juniors and seniors: Prom tickets will be going on sale next week, so make sure you don’t have any outstanding obligations. If you’re unsure, or if you have any questions, please see Mrs. Shapiro in the front office.
A reminder to student drivers to park in student designated parking areas only! Tickets are being issued daily to vehicles parking in staff, visitor and bus lots. Need a parking permit? Applications can be found in the front office AND on the LHS website.
Lancer Media will be hosting an Easter Egg Hunt throughout Linganore. If you find an Easter egg around the school, open the contents and bring the egg to room C203, where you will receive a prize and be entered into a drawing. It will go on until Spring Break. Happy Hunting!
Attention all students who are taking an AP exam this year: If your last name begins with A-K, you need to report to the cafeteria on Monday, April 10th, during PREP to complete the pre-registration process. If your last name begins with L-Z, you need to report to the cafeteria during PREP on Tuesday, April 11th.
The LHS Pom and Dance team will be hosting tryouts for the 2017-2018 school year beginning Tuesday, April 25th. For more information, please see Mrs. Richardson in room A219 or see the Linganore High School webpage.
Congratulations to the following “STAR” students! They are each being recognized for demonstrating excellence in Academics, Accountability, or Attitude: Ethan Butehorn, Shannon Loughrey, Tommy Moyer, Sophia Posada, Devin Reed, Payton Twiford and Kelsey Ward.
The “Healing Hearts“ drive is collecting children’s books, coloring books, crayons and new stuffed animals. These items will be donated to the New Market Volunteer Fire Department for the firefighters to give to children to comfort them in high stress situations. A donation box is set up in the front office and donations will be accepted until Thursday, April 13th.
Latin 3 student, Gia Haemmerle, is trying to raise funds to attend the National Junior Classical League convention in Alabama during the last week of July. The registration fee is $395 and is due by May 15th. In an effort to help her, the Latin Club is selling the remaining Latin Club t-shirts for $10 each. All proceeds will be going to Gia’s convention costs.
The Drama and Performing Arts departments have been hard at work these past few weeks in preparation for our spring musical “The Addams Family”. Tonight is opening night at 7:00 pm and the tickets are $10.
And now for sports related news…
Tonight, the baseball team is having a fundraiser at Buffalo Wild Wings in Monocacy from 6:00 – 9:00 pm. Fifteen percent of food purchases will go toward the baseball program. Please tell your server you are there to support LHS baseball!
Last night, the softball team beat Middletown 12-2. The baseball team lost 4-1.
The lacrosse teams travel to TJ tonight. The boys’ game starts at 6:00 pm and the girls’ game is at 7:00 pm.
