The NHS talent show auditions will be held today at 2:30 pm in the band room. Sign up outside of room C121. The talent show itself will be held on April 12th, at 7:00 pm. Tickets are $3.00 for students and $5.00 for adults.
On Saturday, April 8th, the National Art Honor Society will be hosting a Color Run. Check in starts at 9:30 am and the race starts at 10:00 am. Afterwards, there will be exciting activities until noon. It’s $12 for students and adults. If you are planning on participating, get your permission slip in by this Wednesday, April 5th, to Ms. Geisser in room A211.
Congratulations to Latin students Gia Haemmerle and Allie Hudson, who represented Linganore at the Maryland Junior Classical League State Convention this weekend in Easton. Allie placed third in the State in both the Latin Spelling Bee and the Dramatic Interpretation Performance. She also took first place in individual academics on the Roman Customs test. Gia placed first in academics in the History of the Monarchy and the Republic, as well as in the Heptathlon test.
For the second year in a row, Garrett Wiehler and Lincoln Robisch are going to the Destination Imagination Global Competition! They won at States over the weekend! Congratulations!
The Healing Hearts drive is collecting children’s books, coloring books, crayons and new stuffed animals. These items will be donated to the New Market Volunteer Fire Department for the firefighters to give to children to comfort them in high stress situations. A donation box is set up in the front office and donations will be accepted until Thursday, April 13th.
The Drama and Performing Arts departments have been hard at work these past few weeks in preparation for our spring musical “The Addams Family”. We would love to have you and your family and friends come see the show. There is a suggested PG-13 rating, but nothing inappropriate. The show opens this Thursday, April 6th, at 7:00 pm and runs through the weekend. Matinees are Saturday April 8th, and Sunday, April 9th, at 2:00 pm.

All Scholar Athlete applications need to be turned into Coach Joseph by the end of the day.
Last week, the boys’ Varsity lacrosse team beat Middletown 13-9. Unfortunately, the girls’ lacrosse team lost 25-6.
Thursday night, the softball team beat Brunswick 11-6. The baseball team lost 10-2.
Congratulations to the girls’ Varsity tennis team for sweeping Catoctin by the score of 3-2. The boys’ tennis team lost a close match by the score of 3-2. The teams will travel to Frederick today. Players should be on the bus by 2:35 pm.
Tonight, the baseball and softball teams will also be traveling to Frederick. Both games start at 4:30 pm.
