The LHS String Orchestra has earned the honor of attending the Maryland State Orchestra Adjudication at Morgan State University on Wednesday, April 26th.

Attention band students:  Symphonic Band rehearsal will be held today (Tuesday) after school from 2:45-5:15 pm. Please be on time and ready to play at 2:45 pm.

There will be a NHS basketball game Tuesday, May 2nd, at 6:00 pm at Linganore. The cost of attendance is two canned food items.

Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) club will hold its last meeting of the year on Wednesday, April 26th, from 7:00-8:15 pm at the ESSL in Frederick.  The speaker is from the National Biodefense Analysis and Countermeasures Center. There will also be cool science door prizes!

German Honor Society inductees and current members should meet in Ms. Freimuth’s room C225 directly after school today to practice for tomorrow’s ceremony. Those who cannot attend today, please make sure you are here by 5:30 pm on Wednesday, April 26th.

Congratulations to computer graphics student Stefin Burlew for winning the Kick Butts Day T-Shirt Design contest.  He won an Amazon Fire Tablet – the grand prize at the high school level!  His design will be reproduced on a t-shirt for Kick Butts Day to promote a tobacco free Frederick. Way to go Stefin!

Prom tickets will be on sale Wednesday, Thursday and Friday this week from 7:00-7:25 am.  Please see Ms. Larson in Student Services to purchase a ticket.  The cost is $35 per person. Tickets will not be on sale at any other time during the school day.

If you are interested in being inducted into either the Drama Honors Society or the National Dance Honors Society, please stop by room D101, or see Mrs. Smithhisler to learn more. Induction point sheets are due Monday, May 8th, in order to be inducted at the ceremony on Friday, May 19th. Students in grades 9-12 are welcome to join the Drama Honors Society and dancers in grades 10-12 are welcome to join the Dance Honors Society.

On Saturday May 6th, Frederick County will be hosting the first annual Envirothon from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at Tuscarora High School. There will be fun family activities, so come out and participate!

The LHS Art Department will be having their annual art show this Thursday, April 27th. The show will be open from 5:30-7:00 pm on Thursday and during first, second and third period on Friday. Come out to see all the great artwork our LHS students have made this year!

Attention all APUSH students: Mr. Hines will be running before and after-school review sessions this Wednesday, April 26th.  The morning reviews are from 6:15-7:15 am and the after school reviews will be from 2:15-3:15 pm. The PREP reviews on Wednesdays will still be held as usual.

On Monday May 1st, the class of 2020 will be having a fundraiser all day at MOD Pizza in Frederick.  Stop by the attendance office to pick up a flyer.

The boys JV and Varsity lacrosse teams will be playing Brunswick today at home.  JV starts at 5:30 pm and Varsity starts at 7:00 pm.

The girls Varsity lacrosse team will also play Brunswick tonight at Brunswick.  Their game starts at 6:00 pm.
