In a tournament of 16 teams, the Varsity Wrestling team placed fifth at Franklin High School on January 13 and 14. The tournament was tough competition, and the weather that was expected Saturday morning prevented the tournament from lasting more than one day.

The two-day tournament turned into an all-night tournament, lasting until late Friday night at 1 a.m.

Seven wrestlers placed 4th or higher:

2nd – Sophomores Michael Bromley and Dalton Pearl

3rd – Freshman Riley Sheehy and Senior John Morris

4th – Sophomore Joey Bromley, Junior Tristan Verbin-Hedger, and Senior Ryan Jongezoon

The team may have competed against many state ranked wrestlers and challenging teams, but that didn’t stop them from placing 4th in the tournament, with a total of 105 points.

The team competes again on Monday, January 23 at 5:00 p.m. at home against Westminster and Tuscarora.  Spectators are welcome.
