On October 20th, the Lancers got their well deserved victory after some tough previous losses. The varsity football game was away at Middletown, giving the Knights the home advantage.

It was a nailbiting game, with both teams going back and forth with taking the lead. Linganore’s Joey Felton had the first touch down of the game, only to be returned with the Knights scoring before the end of the first quarter as well. The game was tied at 7 after the first quarter.

By the end of the half, the Lancers managed to find Joey Felton for a 12 yard touchdown pass, widening the lead to 14-7 at the half.

In the third quarter the Knights made a surge in an effort to take the lead by kicking a field goal to give them a 16-14 lead. They then intercepted a pass and kicked another field goal. Linganore was trailing 19-14 by the end of the third quarter.

In the fourth quarter, Linganore turned up the heat and began making plays. Senior Jake Zudal had a touchdown run, and Joey Felton followed with a two point run. To seal the victory, Ryan Leyh threw a beautiful touchdown pass to Felton to widen the score gap to 29-19.

Middletown scored one more touchdown in the fourth quarter, but it was not enough to buy them a lead. The final score was 29-26, Linganore.

Senior Jake Zudal had one of his best games of the season this Friday night, “They were tough, but we played well and had great energy.”

Come out and support the Linganore Lancers at the next Friday night’s game!
