The third annual Quidditch Tournament will be held Wednesday, May 17th. Teams of 7-9 can sign up in the media center. Teams must have at least two of each gender playing at all times. The cost is $25 per team. A limited number of teams are allowed, so sign-up early. If you have any questions, see Ms. Thompson in the media center.

Pre-ordered yearbooks will be distributed to seniors during the Senior Picnic on Monday, May 15th, during fourth block. Yearbooks will be available for seniors to purchase, on that day only, for $80 cash. Otherwise, seniors can pick up or purchase a yearbook, after May 15th, in room A206, before or after school, or during first or third blocks.

All current NHS members who would like to apply to be an officer, must attend the meeting on Monday, May 15th, at 2:15 pm in room C123.  Current officers are expected to attend.

Come out to the ‘Startup Frederick’ competition tonight at Oakdale High School. This is the ‘Shark Tank’ like competition where students pitch their business ideas. Good luck to Grace Sarsok, who will be representing Linganore High School at the competition.

Juniors and seniors attending Prom are reminded that guests who do not attend Linganore High School must present a photo ID when they check in at Prom.

During every lunch shift, the SGA has a donation box in the front of the cafeteria for students to donate to the American Cancer Society’s ‘Relay for Life’. For every dollar that is donated, that person receives a chance to win two Shawn Mendes tickets. You have until tomorrow to donate.

The journalism class is hosting a contest for seniors to win concert tickets!  Come to room C203 and answer 17 questions for the Class of 2017, with the theme of, “Oh, the places you’ll go!” The winner will be announced during the senior picnic.

Attention seniors: Don’t forget to clear your obligations by Tuesday, May 23rd, in order to receive your diploma at graduation. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Shapiro in the front office.

And now for sports related news:

The unified track team received an overall bronze medal at States yesterday.  The following individual awards were received:  Brenna Lindsay won 1st place in her division for the 100M run, Victoria Cowan won 1st place in her division for the 100M run, Jon Massey received 2nd place in his division for shotput, Isabelle Thomas placed 3rd in her division for long jump, Brenna Lindsay won 2nd place in her division for mini-javelin, and Austin Flickinger received 3rd place in his division for mini-javelin

Last night, the boys Varsity lacrosse team beat South Hagerstown 17-0. Unfortunately, the girls lost to Middletown. Congratulations on a great season.

Tonight, the baseball team will take on Frederick at home. The game starts at 4:30 pm.

Tomorrow, the boys lacrosse team will play TJ at home. The game starts at 6:00 pm.
