Which winter sport do you prefer, snowboarding or skiing?

Snowboarding was added to the Olympic Games in 1998, while downhill skiing is a much older tradition, beginning in the Olympics in 1936. Although snowboarding has the glamour of Shaun White, skiing stays most popular.

According to the SIA Snow Sports Fact Sheet for 2015, the two sports are neck and neck in popularity.

The New York Post reported why snowboarding has gone down in popularity, while skiing has become more popular within the last season. The original daredevil snowboarders of the 1990’s are growing up and having families.  The snowboard industry has matured, but there is a new generation coming up.
