Juniors and sophomores:  If you have completed geometry, it is now time to register for the PSAT.  The cost is $15.00 and registration is done through School Cash Online, just like other school fees.  The PSAT will be given on Wednesday, October 19, during periods 1 and 2.  The deadline for registration is Friday, September 30.  The PSAT is excellent practice for the SAT and it gives useful feedback.  It is the only way for juniors to qualify for National Merit Scholar recognition.

PREP classes:  Be on the alert for a chance to win a donut party next week! Latin club is collecting school supplies for Liberty Elementary and the PREP group that contributes the most items between September 19 and 22 will be rewarded with dozens of donuts. We need pencils and pencil grips, cap erasers, dry erase markers and regular markers, composition books, crayons, highlighters, two pocket folders, and Ziploc bags of all sizes. Your teachers have more details in their email.

There will be no ELO for Government this week.  ELO will resume the following week at its normal time at 2:30 pm in Mr. Burch’s room A215.

Now for sports related news…

The basketball and lacrosse teams have True AP Athletic training from September 26 to November 10, starting at 6:30 pm in the main gym. See Coach Easterday to pick up registration information.

The field hockey teams took on Catoctin at Catoctin High School. Varsity won 8-4 and JV tied 0-0.

The Varsity volleyball team beat Catoctin 3-0 and JV won 2-1.

Both Varsity soccer teams defeated Catoctin with a score of 5-0.

Tonight, the JV football team will play South Hagerstown at home. Come out and show your support at 6:00 pm.
