In order to support a Linganore alumni family, a group of LHS students called “Alvarado’s Angels” are having a big festival and volleyball tournament this Saturday, May 14th. Show your support by coming out and making a team or buying a t-shirt and wristband. You can purchase these items at the “Alvarado’s Angels” booth at all lunch shifts.

Are you a leader, collaborator and planner? Check out the FCPS Summer Environmental Leadership Experience! Two credits will be earned in leadership, service learning and journalism. Informational flyers are in the Counseling Office, or visit the “News and Events” tab on the Virtual School website. Applications are due Friday, May 13th.

Don’t forget about the Jazz and Percussion Ensemble Concert today at 7:00 pm in the Linganore High School Theater. There is a $5.00 donation at the box office.

This announcement is for juniors who are interested in taking part in the work-study program for next year. This is the program where you come to school for a half day and spend the other half of your day at a job. You do NOT need to be currently working to apply for this program. The informational meeting is today during fourth period. Please stop by room C103, if you are interested, but did not receive a pass.

SGA will be selling purple feet at all lunch shifts for $1.00 each, along with the luminaries for $5.00 each, for Relay for Life. The feet will have the names of loved ones who have been affected by cancer. The goal is to raise $2,000 to help families affected by cancer. Help them out with this great cause.

Come out and cheer on our Varsity softball team as they take on Catoctin for the CMC Championship at Hood College starting at 5:30 pm. There is a $5.00 entry fee for this event. Good luck, ladies!

After the softball game, come join the team at Buffalo Wild Wings on Route 26. Fifteen percent of all sales will go to the LHS softball team. Flyers for this event are available outside of Coach Poff’s office. If you don’t have a flyer, please tell your waitress you are there to support LHS softball! This event runs from 6:00 – 9:00 pm.
