There are many ways both students and teachers get to school.

Social studies teachers Mr. Jeb Beaver and Mr. James Hines have taken advantage of riding bikes to school on Bike to Work Day.

Hines and Beaver participate in this event every year and ride their bikes as often as they can.

“I normally ride on the mountains and to work. I bike 17 miles in half an hour to get here,” said Hines.

“Frequently I ride throughout Walkersville. It’s about 10 miles from my house to school,” said Beaver.

Both Hines and Beaver encourage teachers to participate in this event. However “biking to school can be dangerous so I wouldn’t advise just anyone to do so,” said Beaver.

Mr. Hines and Mr. Beaver both plan to participate in this event in the future.

“I would absolutely ride continue doing this again,” said Beaver.

“This event benefits not only teachers but students, too, giving them knowledge about other uses of transportation,” said Hines.
