Poll: Where would you spend your education dollars?
July 6, 2015
The Frederick County Public Schools Fiscal Year 2016 (FY2016) budget was recently approved and has been effective since July 1, 2015. Although the Board of Education tried to keep funding for some programs, others met the chopping block.
The Board of Education is saving money by cutting textbook replacement programs, increasing class sizes and cutting teacher positions, eliminating freshman sports, reducing extended learning opportunities and summer school, and reducing the staff salary pool. Details of changes can be found here.
If you were the superintendent or a member of the Board of Education, in which areas would you push for more funding?
