Linganore is looking for students interested in leadership. Our student government is seeking candidates for office in the SGA and for your Class Councils. Our own Megan Straight will head to the final ISHS horse show of the season this Sunday in Darnstown, Maryland. She will compete in Hunter Equitation classes on the flat and over fences against riders from high schools across Maryland. Good luck Megan!
Linganore’s Key Club will be co-hosting an all you can eat Pancake Breakfast, to benefit local community projects.The breakfast will be held this Saturday, from 6 am to Noon, at Calvary United Methodist Church, in Mt. Airy. The admission price is 8 dollars for adults, 4 dollars for children ages 6 to 12, and free for those 5 and under. Come out and support our fantastic Key Club!
The ASVAB test is scheduled for Tuesday, March 31st. If you would like to learn more or sign up, please see Ms. Riley in Student Services.
Twin Ridge Elementary School will host their first annual TRES Superhero 5k and 1 Mile Fun Run on April 18th. The 5k will be at 8:30, the 1 mile race will be at 9:30, and awards will be at 10. Please consider signing up for this great family fun event!
Safe and Sane needs your support to ensure a great event for the Class of 2015. Without strong community support of fundraisers, Safe and Sane will have to limit activities at this year’s Safe and Sane. Please tell your parents to come out to the Safe and Sane Bingo event today, March 27. Doors open at 5:30 pm and bingo starts at 7 pm. Tickets are $25 and are available at the door.
The Linganore Indoor Color Guard will travel to Pennsylvania to compete in the KIDA Mid-Atlantic Championships. They are ranked 3rd out of 14 groups in their division, so they have an excellent chance to medal this weekend. Good luck to the Lancer Indoor Guard!
Congratulations to Katie Lamb who won second place overall in the Women’s Civic Contest State Division for her drawing Skulls with Pumpkins. She is being awarded 100 dollars. Way to go Katie!
Boy’s JV and Varsity lacrosse games scheduled for yesterday were postponed due to weather, but both JV and Varsity Girl’s Lacrosse teams played at home. The JV lost 16 to 3 and the Varsity lost 19 to 1.
The Varsity Tennis team will host the Tuscarora Titans today after school. The match will begin at 4 p.m. Good Luck Lancers!
